What Nexus is

Nexus connects media stored across multiple machines and shared folders into one operational workspace. Administrators can see media availability, processing progress, Worker health, team membership, and review status without needing to understand the underlying distributed architecture.

Editors work with proxy media in their editing workflow. Original source media remains untouched during editing and review.

Central media viewBrowse and inspect media from approved folders across the system.
Local processingWorkers can create thumbnails, proxies, metadata, and AI analysis locally.
Controlled accessAdmins create the Admin and Editor accounts that can sign in, reset a member's password, and remove a member.
Review workflowSubmitted edits can be reviewed, approved, rejected, and tracked by status.

AI analysis may run on capable Workers or the Coordinator and can generate tags, descriptions, transcripts, objects, entities, and sounds.

Protected

Original source media remains untouched during ingest, editing, proxy generation, and review workflows.

Workspace Guide

Media

Browse media visually, run natural-language search, inspect proxy availability, processing state, metadata, and AI-generated information.

Folders

Manage shared media locations, approve newly shared folders, and inspect scan, proxy, AI, availability, and processing state.

Machines

Monitor Coordinators and Workers: online/offline state, operating system, approval status, connected folders, and the work each machine is running.

Team

Create Admins and Editors, edit a member's display name, change a member's role, grant or withdraw an Editor's access to shared folders, reset a member's password, and remove a member. Removing a member ends their sign-in and access; their submissions, workspace files and review history stay in the studio.

Reviews

Open submitted edits, preview proxy-based work, approve them, or reject them with an optional note. Nexus records who last changed a review and when; it does not keep a full history of earlier decisions.

Processing

See the proxy, replica-copy and AI-analysis work this studio has queued, is running, has finished or has failed, in human-readable form.

Choose how the console looks and change your own password.

Search

Media search reads file names, paths, tags and AI-generated text, and with AI enabled it also matches by meaning. Narrow the results by media type, status, tags and who submitted them.
